The power of a baby toothless smile!

I believe a smile is a universal face expression that can warm up hearts and spread good feelings anywhere they are presented. We all feel better when we are approaching a service and are received with a smile. The same happens when we arrive at work or at home. During a chat, we can feel how much reciprocity we are having if the other person gives any shy smile. We could say that a smile is an open doors tool.

A smile is a fabulous ice-breaker. Nevertheless, a child smile is powerful. Young children are spontaneous creatures! They are free of any prejudice or social filters that humankind imposed to us. Young children are very sincere as well! If they are enjoying a play, they will keep playing with it; if they are bored, they walk way. If they are happy, they smile straight way. If they are upset, they show it straight way too. A young child smile warms up hearts quickly. Children spread such a positive energy around them – and basically through the lightness of their smile!

What to say about a toothless smile? Babies toothless smiles are just irresistible! Have you seen what happens around a baby toothless smile? A baby smiling is a sign that all is good with that tiny person. Fed, dry, painless and feeling loved (yes – babies need to feel warmth around them because they may feel lonely!) its showing that all is great. So how babies tell they are ok to us? Smiling!

Research shows that a new born start to smile when parents are reaching exhaustion in the first few weeks with sleep deprivation and the endless nappy change and feeding routine. Nature is wise! A toothless baby smile to say that all is good and above all: all is worth! The smile is the reward!

And who can resist to an open toothless smile? I haven’t met anyone. As soon a baby smiles; you smile back, and it goes on in a beautiful chain, when you see, everyone around is smiling back to the baby.

This photo is one of my son first open smiles. Studies say that you can differentiate a smile from wind when the child is moving the whole face. We have no doubts he was smiling! He was showing shy attempts of smiling with a few weeks and, just after his first month, we got this beautiful present: Aidan Francisco’s smiling face!

Cheers! To a world with more smiles and lightness and less closed faces and heaviness.
